LOS ANGELES, April 9, 2025 – Entries are now closed for the 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro, Los Angeles’ premier LPGA Tour event that will boast one of the strongest fields of the 2025 LPGA Tour season when 144 of the world’s best female professional golfers converge upon El Caballero Country Club, April 17-20.

Augusta National Women’s Amateur runner-up Asterisk Talley, currently 15th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and a three-time junior All-American at 16 years of age, has accepted a sponsor exemption to compete in the JM Eagle LA Championship. Talley won the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball with Sarah Lim and finished runner-up at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the U.S. Girls’ Junior (also at El Caballero Country Club) and was the low amateur at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open. The Chowchilla, Calif. resident will be making her second LPGA Tour start.

“I’m so excited to be awarded a sponsor exemption into the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro,” said Talley, who finished at 11-under part for a second-place finish at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Saturday. “I’m thrilled to return to one of my favorite courses in El Caballero Country Club and test my game against the best in the world. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to continue to chase after my dreams.”

Joining Talley as a sponsor exemption is University of Southern California alum and 2020 AIG Women’s Open Champion Sophia Popov. Popov had a best T14 finish at the Mizuho Americas Open in 2024 in 17 starts.

“Returning to Los Angeles to compete alongside the best in the world in the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro is an honor, and I can’t wait to tee it up at El Caballero Country Club next week,” said Popov. “As a proud USC alum, Los Angeles has a special place in my heart. Thank you JM Eagle and Plastpro. I look forward to supporting this great championship and its ongoing efforts on giving back to the community.”

Rianne Malixi, the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior winner at El Caballero Country Club who earned the first sponsor exemption into the championship as a result of her win, withdrew her entry on Tuesday due to injury.
