Los Angeles Resident and LPGA Tour Winner Lizette Salas Returns to Hometown Event for First Time Since 2024 Following Back Injury

LOS ANGELES, April 2, 2026 – Back-to-back LPGA Tour winner and major champion Hyo Joo Kim joins fellow major champions and fan favorites Brooke Henderson, Grace Kim and Minjee Lee in headlining the latest commitments for the 2026 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro, taking place at El Caballero Country Club in Los Angeles, April 16-19.

 

Kim, who successfully defended her LPGA title on Sunday at the Ford Championship, is the current leader in the season-long Race to the CME Globe Rankings and ranked No. 3 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The nine-time LPGA Tour winner has a best T17 finish at the JM Eagle LA Championship in 2024.

 

Los Angeles resident and University of Southern California alumnus Lizette Salas is also entered into the field and will continue her return to the LPGA Tour at the JM Eagle LA Championship, competing in the event for the first time since 2024 following a back injury. Salas is a two-time LPGA winner and a five-time U.S. Solheim Cup team member.

They join an elite tournament field that features defending champion Ingrid Lindblad and two-time champion Hannah Green, who has won her last three professional starts – the Australian WPGA Championship, the Australian Open and the HSBC Women’s World Championship – as well as many of the world’s top-ranked players, major champions, USC and UCLA alumni and several players with Los Angeles connections.

 

In addition to Kim (3), Lee (5) and Green (8), early commitments from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings top 10 include Miyu Yamashita (6), Lottie Woad (9) and Sei Young Kim (10). Sponsor invitations include the world’s top two ranked junior golfers in the AJGA junior golf rankings – Asterisk Talley (1) and Aphrodite Deng (2) – both of whom are competing this week at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

 

In addition to Salas, several Los Angeles-area players are committed into the championship, including Allisen Corpuz (Los Angeles, USC), Andrea Lee (Hermosa Beach), Alison Lee (Los Angeles, UCLA), Gabriela Ruffels (Los Angeles, USC), Ryann O’Toole (San Clemente, UCLA), Lilia Vu (Fountain Valley, UCLA) and Rose Zhang (Irvine).

 

The JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro will feature a field of 144 of the world’s best female professional golfers vying for a share of the $3.75 million purse, one of the largest prize funds on the LPGA Tour schedule outside of major championships. JM Eagle Rebuilding Five Homes of Los Angeles Firefighters in 2026

Following the LA fires in 2025, JM Eagle donated a total of $6.5 million to support wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles to multiple organizations, including the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation and the Los Angeles Police Foundation to support Los Angeles firefighters and first responders with necessary gear and equipment and towards rebuilding communities affected by the fires.

 

JM Eagle is continuing to be a leader in the greater Los Angeles community in the LA wildfire rebuilding efforts. In 2026, JM Eagle donated a total of $1 million to rebuild five homes of Los Angeles firefighters and their families in Altadena, Calif. From supporting wildfire relief to uplifting the greater Los Angeles community, the Wangs align the tournament with a greater purpose.

For a third consecutive year, the entire tournament field of 144 players competing in the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro will receive complimentary lodging accommodations throughout tournament week, courtesy of Walter and Shirley Wang. Each player will be offered first-class hotel accommodation along with complimentary VIP shuttle service to El Caballero Country Club throughout tournament week.

 

JM Eagle to Provide Complimentary Admission to Those Affected by the Eaton and Palisades Fires

Compliments of JM Eagle, those affected by the Eaton and Palisades Fires will receive complimentary grounds tickets during tournament competition rounds Thursday-Sunday, April 16-19 (up to four tickets per family). Proper identification and proof of zip code will be required at the admission gate.

 

First Responders, Military and Their Families to Receive Complimentary Admission Courtesy of SERVPRO

All First Responders (fire, police and emergency medical technicians), as well as all members of the military (active, reserve, retired and veterans) and their families (up to 4 tickets) will receive complimentary admission to the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro, courtesy of SERVPRO. All military and first responders also will have access to the SERVPRO Hero Outpost, an exclusive hospitality area overlooking the 10th green at El Caballero Country Club. Children under 18 to receive complimentary admission

Through the support of Walter and Shirley Wang, the tournament will continue to offer complimentary grounds passes to children under the age of 18 with a paid adult. Children under 18 and junior golfers will be invited to Junior Golf Day, taking place Saturday, April 18 on-site at El Caballero Country Club. As part of Junior Golf Day will be the Junior Golf Show, featuring a demonstration, clinic and a Q&A from an LPGA Tour professional on her experiences as a professional athlete on the LPGA Tour. Additional Junior Golf Day initiatives to be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the championship.

JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro

Celebrating its fourth year in 2026, the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro returns to El Caballero Country Club while Wilshire Country Club, the tournament’s previous host, continues its multi-million-dollar renovation, for which JM Eagle has donated irrigation, drainage and water pipes. It is anticipated to return as host in future years after the comprehensive upgrade is completed.
