TARZANA, Calif. - A champion returns in the JM Eagle LA Championship—this time, on a new course.

Brooke Henderson, the 2021 winner of this tournament at Wilshire Country Club, played in the pro-am yesterday afternoon and got her first look at the course. Henderson says she’s feeling a great vibe and energy going into the week, especially after picking up some insight and local knowledge during her round.

“It was awesome to get to play with members from here, and the caddies were very knowledgeable as well,” Henderson said. “The greens are slopey, so it always comes down to putting on Sunday, but I think ball striking will play a big role this week.”

Henderson believes this is the perfect opportunity to test her game and make a push to be at the top of the leaderboard.

“I feel like my game’s been trending for a little while now, and so I’m excited about where it is right now.”

She also looks forward to seeing how the week goes after continuing to grow her game at this tournament over the past years.

“JM Eagle has done an incredible job of elevating this event and treating us girls extremely well and it’s really fun to be able to come to an event where you are treated so well…we owe a lot to JM Eagle.”

Henderson holds the tournament scoring record at 16-under par. The question now is: can she break her record and become a two-time JM Eagle LA champion?
